– Inaugural AMA District 19 Championships This Weekend at Golden Pine Raceway

PRENTISS, MS (October 27) – Golden Pine Raceway is excited to bring a new event to life on a weekend already loaded with 3 strong regional series stops, OEM contingency and more Halloween fun than should be allowed. Halloween weekend always marks the season finale for Golden Pine Raceway and this year the event will be AMA sanctioned under the banner of District 19 Championships. Golden Pine Raceway is working hard to draw more attention towards the AMA in our area through events like AMA Pro-Ams, State Championships and Loretta Lynn qualifiers. Focusing a race on the District seemed like an obvious next step.  Here is a quick glance at the racing highlights for this weekend’s race:

·       AMA District 19 Championships featuring a $2,000.00 guaranteed pro purse

·       Gulf Coast Shootout featuring Kawasaki contingency

·       Honda of Lafayette Winter Series featuring Honda contingency

·       Gulf Coast Championships Series

Last year’s Halloween race was a barn burner as families came out strong with Halloween spirit. Camper decorations were in full affect as families competed to win free racing for the weekend. This year free racing is being awarded to the scariest camper and the best costume. While the adults battle for free racing, kids get to trick or treat in a controlled environment among family and friends. “When you stop and thing about it, a motocross race is an excellent place for Halloween. Everyone is parked close to each other, there are no busy roads to deal with and generally everyone knows each other at motocross race. It is great for all kids but especially those that live in more rural locations that might not have has much opportunity to go door to door.” says Randy Rector owner of Golden Pine Raceway.

The weekend will get kicked off on Friday, October 30th:

Friday, October 30^th

- Early arrivals starting at 3PM

Saturday, October 31^st

- Organized Practice from 8AM to 2PM

- Racing for select classes starting at 3PM

- Halloween festivities kick off at 7PM

Sunday, Nov. 1^st

- Practice at 7:30AM

- Racing at 9:30AM
